What it does
One line ending, however the file writes it.
A file written on one system and read on another carries \r\n, and a
parser that only knows \n leaves a stray \r at the end of every field.
That is the commonest way a format parser is wrong about real data.
Read the signature
- The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
- Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
- Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
- Result makes success and recoverable failure part of the function's type.
