This declaration introduces a public type.

What it does

A program that was started and has not been waited for.

run above starts a program, waits for it, and answers everything it

wrote. That is right for a step in a script and wrong for three things a

tool has to do: show output while it is still being produced, feed one

program's output into another's input, and stop a program that is taking

too long. Each needs the program to be something the language holds rather

than a call that has already returned.

A started program is named by a token rather than carried as a value,

because a running program is not a value that may be copied: two copies

each believing they owned its output would each read half of it.
