This is a callable function.

What it does

A file's contents replaced so that no reader ever sees them half written.

The bytes go to a new file beside the destination, created under a name no

other process can claim, and that file is then renamed over the destination.

A crash before the rename leaves the old contents; after it, the new. The

temporary file is removed when any step fails.

Read the signature

• The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.

• & borrows a value for this call instead of moving or copying it.
