Std.Fmt.columns
1 declaration
fn
columns: &Array[Array[Str]] -> Str -> Array[Str]This is a callable function.
What it does
Rows laid out in columns, each column as wide as its widest entry.
The widths are measured from the rows themselves, so a caller does not
declare what they cannot know until every row is in hand. A short row is
padded with empty cells rather than refused, since a table with a ragged
edge is still a table.
Read the signature
- The text after the name is the type checked by Pudu.
- Read arrows from left to right: inputs come first, and the final type is returned.
- & borrows a value for this call instead of moving or copying it.
- Names inside [ ] are type arguments, such as the item type held by a collection.
