This is a callable function.

What it does

The same values as the text a wire carries.

PostgreSQL's protocol sends every parameter as text, so a session speaks

this rather than the typed form. It is a rendering for one transport and not

a second opinion about what the values are: a number is written out here and

stays a number everywhere else.

Read the signature
