What a program measures, declared one metric at a time.

A program declares every metric it has in one place, which is several calls

over the same registry. As methods they read down the page as a list of what

is measured; as functions each call wrapped the one before it, so the

registry a reader looks for first ended up furthest in and the metric

declared first read as the last thing on the page.
