This declaration introduces a public type.

What it does

Everything the program was told, and which profile selected it.

A default is held in the same table as everything else rather than applied

after a lookup failed. A default applied afterwards is invisible: nothing

can list it, report it, or say where it came from, so a program cannot show

its own configuration.
